The owner of Connected Coaching came to me seeking a website for her clients to be able to book services online and contact her. This project involved creating a new website that felt coherent with Connected Coaching’s mission. Connected Coaching is the company of a woman who offers life coaching and Equus coaching with the goal of creating a connection to yourself, to others, and to the Earth.
The Problem
There is a disconnect between the mission of the company and the previous website. This causes conflicting views for clients who seek to learn about Connected Coaching through their website.
The owner, who I worked directly with, also desired a way for cleitns to contact her through her website.
The Solution
A Cohesive Website
I designed a new website that met the client's needs through thoughtful conversation and using visual aids to ensure we were on the same page. I also achieved the owner’s goal of creating a space people could go to learn who she is, what she offers, and a way to contact her.
My Role and
Responsibilities
I worked on this design as the only designer while balancing other clients and projects. Some of my responsibilities include:
-
Translating the information from the client into design specifications.
-
Creating mood boards to ensure the client and I were on the same page.
-
Bring the mission of the company to life through visuals.
-
Designing a website with a place for clients to learn about their services, contact them, and book services.
-
Helping the client with copy to describe their services to their ideal clients.
Wireframes
After a discovery call, I made a list of my client's needs. I used that list to make 3 wireframes that met her needs. I learned that presenting clients with a high-resolution prototype first doesn’t allow them to evaluate the functionality easily. After walking her through the wireframes she chose a layout for me to continue designing.
Moodboards
After discussing the aesthetic my client was going for, I created some mood boards to make sure we were on the same page. Everyone has different interpretations of words, however, showing a visual allows the client to see what their words mean to you.
The Website
After choosing a layout and a style, I presented some high resolutions prototypes. The client chose the design below. By using mood boards, wireframes, and listening carefully to my client’s needs, I was able to design a website she was excited about.
Results
My client was very happy with her new website. It gave her a place for her clients to learn more about her services, contact her, and book an introductory call. She looks forward to expanding her business through her new online tools.
